The 17th of May Parade Committee's subcommittee, comprised of of the Norwegian Consulate in New York, the Scandinavian East Coast Museum, Nordic Delicacies and Laila Jensen are adding new children's activities to this year's 17th of May Parade.

During the parade bookmark/coupons will be distributed to children along the route.  These can be brought to the Children's Activities booth across from the grandstand on 67th Street between 6th and 7th Avenues from 2:00 on, where each child will receive a prize and there will be games to play.

We are also hosting a coloring contest.  The Home Reporter has agreed to become a sponsor and we hope that your publication will do so also.  The image is to be colored and sent to: Scandinavian East Coast Museum, 440  Ovington Avenue, Brooklyn New York 11209.  Please put your name, age and phone number on the back of your submission.  There will be 3 children chosen as winners and they will be announced at the Children's Booth the day of the parade at 3:00.  Prizes are being donated by the Scandinavian East Coast Museum and will include a t-shirt, a Viking comic book and a Viking key chain.
