In 1930 Louisa Daus, a Swedish immigant, was a widow who was working as an aprtment superintendent on East 19th Street in Brooklyn. Her daughter Elsie was born c. 1914 and lived in the Brooklyn area for most of her life although she died in Florida. Elsie Daus, who was an artist herself, married British artist John Phillips (known as "Phil"); they had no children. Is this family known to anyone? Are there other members? Both Elsie and Phil are gone now.
